Fees

Clinical psychology services are exempt from GST. Payments are made on the day by cash, EFTPOS or credit card.

Referrals

A referral is required from your GP, psychiatrist or paediatrician to access clinical psychology services. Referrals can be made by email to [email protected] or fax to (08) 9388 0304.

Medicare

Medicare provides a rebate for patients referred by i) a GP under a Mental Health Care Plan or psychiatrist assessment and management plan, or ii) a psychiatrist or paediatrician. Patients are referred for an initial course of treatment (up to 6 sessions) and, following a review, can obtain a new referral for a further 4 sessions to a maximum of 10 sessions per calendar year. Medicare require a written report to be provided to the referrer at review and completion of treatment, including information on assessment, treatment, and recommendations on future management.

The Medicare rebate is $137.05 per session for a Clinical Psychologist (50 minutes) and can be claimed on the day with a current Medicare card.

Private health insurance

Private health insurance may provide cover for clinical psychology services, which is recommended to be confirmed with the insurance provider.

Workers Compensation and Motor Vehicle Injury Claims

Insurers may accept liability for clinical psychology services under Workers Compensation or Motor Vehicle Injury Claims. Fees can be invoiced to the insurer with the necessary authority and claim reference number.
